March 16th TEA Party Alert for Fond du Lac County

On March 16th the Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors will vote on a resolutions designed to sunset the county half percent sales tax in twelve years when the Merury Marine loan to retain jobs in the county and state is complete.  The sales tax will begin in April 2010.

It seems twelve years of taxing the citizens is not enough for the progressives. There's a movement spearheaded by Chairman Martin Farrell to stop the "sunset" of the sales tax because he thinks it would hamstring a future boards ability to collect income for the county.

Supervisor Jim Kiser says this is just another attempt to grow government. Kiser is calling on Fond du Lac County citizens to attend this meeting in overwhelming numbers to let the board members know you demand the sunset of the half percent sales tax and that the money collected beyond the stated purpose to retain jobs at Mercury Marine be used to pay down our debt and not for operations.
